Presidents Message

The Catholic Association of America is dedicated to being a faithful Catholic Voice in the public square. The Catholic Association is responding to the call of the Catholic Church for members of the lay faithful to apply catholic teaching, wisdom and principles to the issues of the day.

Religious freedom certainly means the right to worship God, individually and in community. St. Pope John Paul 2nd says lay Christians able to assume role of leadership in society. It is urgent to train men and women who in keeping with their vocation can influence public life, and direct it to the common good.

Mathew chapter 5: 13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.”

Mankind, lying in ignorance and wickedness, were as a vast help, ready to purify: but Christ sent forth his disciples, by their lives and doctrines to season it with knowledge and grace. If they are not such as they should be, they are as salt that has lost its savior. If a man can take up the profession of Christ and yet remain graceless, no other doctrine; no other means, can make him profitable. Our light must shine by doing such good works men may see. What is between God and our souls, must be kept to ourselves. We must aim at the glory of God.

Mark 9:50. Jesus said “salt is good, but if the sault loses its flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourself, and have peace with one another”

God bless you all
